I've now been told that there are virtually no UK E class slots in June and all cars destined to be built in July will be standard cars i.e. no extras beyond standard equipment. The dealer hopes that our car will be allocated an August slot.

I saw some of your responses and wanted to ask about delivery dates.
I have ordered C200 AMG line on 8th June for September plate. Have i done this in good time? I have read about delays? Is this true ?
I have ordered thro lease company and he told me customer before me has been told delivery going to be last week in August ! I never know what to believe.

Oh good..let's hope so. Just hate being taken in by sales lease guys. He said he'd ordered one for customer just before me and delivery to dealer is for end of August. I felt just saying this to get payment tbh.
When would be reasonable to ask for delivery date? Would August delivery sound realistic?

I couldn’t really advise when you’re ordering through a leasing company. That completely depends on how they source their cars

Sorry if this a daft question - I've ordered a new GLE450 and the dealers have indicated a build date of 27th July - what does 'build date' actually mean? Is it the day it starts to be built, or the end production date? How long does a GLE take to be built anyway?

Personally, I got tired of this waiting fiasco and dumped our Mercedes order. The manager at the dealer I spoke to said that "it's a good idea as we have no idea when these cars will be made. I don't blame you one bit.".
Replacement car purchased, not a Merc, and on the drive. Very happy now but not the way I wanted our first 'new' Mercedes order to go.

I believe it’s down to a change in the WLTP testing schedule for GLE. We are expecting them to come forward, but at the moment there’s a hold on all. They can’t be shipped until the new testing has all be approved for that model

I placed the order for my GLE 450 back in March, the dealership has updated me that it's built and expected at the dealers from 22nd August, so should be in it the first week of September.

Hi JBD, could you let me know if factory orders are still being taken for SL400/500 Grand Editions or is it just what's left in stock at dealerships?

If I can get a good deal on a new car or a pre-reg I might consider chopping in my Porsche Boxster for one.
