Evening all,

I have been looking into getting a veg oil conversion as I will be starting a new job on Monday which will mean a 600 mile per week commute.

One of the suppliers has asked what type/make of fuel pump is fitted to my car as apparently some are not suitable for the thicker oil.

Can anyone tell me what type/make is on a year 2000 E320 CDi?

Thanks

Peter.

bosch or delphi

Wouldnt recomend it with your car.

Tends not to agree with cdi's unless heavily diluted.

Dieselman...............

I wouldn't run a CDi on veg oil as the pump is VERY likely to break under the load.
You could use Boidiesel as that has the same viscosity as regular fossil diesel.

Thanks BlackC55,

The system is a 2 tank system which switches over to vegi once the engine hits a high enough temperature, they claim this allows it to work on all modern diesels as the oil is thinner when hot. Do you think it will still be too thick for the CDi type engine?

one word.

Yes

ow well I will just have to conserve fuel by driving down the M5 at 57 miles per hour, do you think the other commuters will mind :D

You have a diesel.

Your fuel economy will be good anyway.

Try an Emag

You have a Bosch pump. We (Delphi) only have our common rail pump on the latest 200 and 220 cdis since the 2006 E class facelift.

Regards

Matt
