Two days ago,i`ve sptted an S class w220 with that light blue colour and it had matt black bonnet roof and boot .It looked so ugly and that yesterday i`ve spotted a silver w210 that had the same thing!!!!
Ok on my red car i had gloss black roof, but this was :crazy:

ahhhh, matt black, the one true colour for motorcycles... takes me back...

Remember the original Ford Capri 1600 GT XLR which had a matt black bonnet.

The idea was taken from rallying where it was thought to cut down glare and reflections from the bonnet thus giving better visibility to the driver.

So that's why the taxis in Watford have black bonnets..:D
Personally I don't like matt colours on a car - makes polishing and waxing a nightmare.

i saw an M5 yday with it in Watford... nastyyy

It is definitely the fashion at the mo I've seen a Ferrari 599 ruined in matt black film, a CLS looking shyate in it and even that DR520 C Class looks iffy. I did see a matt silver 3 series that looked wonderful on a dull evening.

But neither the film or paint can be polished, cleaned properly, clayed, waxed and scratches or scoffs cannot be buffed out. Well you could get a new bit of film.

Just leave the car unwashed outside for about 8 years to get the true matt effect!

its massively in fashion... In LA i saw LOTS of matt black and matt white cars... they really look rubbish to me.

Saw matt black CLS and M5 in central London today...yuk! :(

I agree, best left for Jap street racers or muscle cars. And motorcycles, friend at work has a matt black shadow, very nice if thats what you're into

I saw a convertible 6 series BMW at the weekend in Matt black, awful.

F430 during the week in matt black, awful.

I don't see the fascination.

The only cars that have the remotest chance of looking right in this colour are driven by Mad Max, or are from the late 60's with 3 speed gearboxs and a minimum 428ci lump.

FUGLY

Only a Harley 'Nightster' befits Matt Black.

Ceilings and coving are the only things that should ever be finished in Matt White.

In Workington this weekend there was a W210 in a hotel car park that was painted matt black and dropped even lower than the AMG. Jury definitely out on that one.

Saw a BMW X6 today, in matt black. As if you could make that car any fuglier!

Saw a Corsa a few weeks ago that had been brush painted matt black. Absolutely gash.

New Mercedes E Class Coupe does not look too bad in Matt Black

I'd like to see these matt finished cars in three years time after the birds, ice and car washes have taken their toll.

I do like the look of that pamrit. i have seen pics of some super cars with the matt finish wrap and confess to liking them...and as for mad max's beast...hell yeagh!!!
i have recently noticed several range rover sports running about with normal metalic paint finish (black/silver) then with a coloured paint/wrap finish on the roof and bonnet........i am really un-decided on that....too many footballers in Bothwell i reckon!!!!

Spotted the same S class w220 again. It has S63 AMG on the back but when pulling away i could hear is a diesel

This is surely a radical design movement where LESS is --------LESS  unless its some sort of RADAR reflecting paint Stealth Corsa anyone?? There's that extra comfort you get rolling down Kilburn High Road knowing your safe from ground to air missiles.
