What to replace my old tyres with?

Firstly, thanks for this (sub?) folder, you certainly don't waste time.

My front tyres are fast approaching the spacer bars and I have been wondering what tyres to buy next. Currently I am running on Michellin Pilot Primacy 195 65 V15. Although I have not had any problems with them I have been considering changing them for Conti Eco Contact.

I would be happy to know what other members think of the Michellin's and do they have some suggestions as an alternative.

Many Thanks

David

Well, you might want to look at:

Hankook HR £48 (each) £180 (4)
Goodyear NCT5 VR £59 (each) £230 (4)

or there's the Kumho/Marshall "719 POWER RACER II" which is a more budget tyre (I have Kumho on my 17" AMGs and they're great) but by the sounds of it the tyre might be a softer compound and won't last long. Check with ATS or someone on the treadwear rating.

you're absolutely right, they make fine tyres. Pity it was about £650 for a set for my shiny new wheels! I ended up getting a set of Kumhos instead, esp as the bloke at ATS said the Kumhos were direct competition for the Michelin and were just as grippy but had better treadwear. *SOLD*... for about £350 I have pushed the tyres and they have been excellent.

Irritatinng as it is, i cant remember the name of them, but there is a new ad on TV for the new Michelins, pretty funky tread pattern i have to say

i have been driving on pirelli 2000 on the front and pirelli4000 on the back-they were about £50 and £60 respectively each(inclusive of vat and fitting from oldfield in southall)-must say they do their job well, not one who pushes cars to the limits of speed or cornering where obviously others tyres would be better. michelins are good and you get what you pay for.

using dunlop sport2000 on the c200 sport-were about 65 inclusive of vat and balanced-a good deal which i got at oldfield tyres in southall, middx

Whoops, a bit late on this one.....I caught that test in EVO mag too. Looks like Goodyear Eagle F1s are certainly worth considering if the price is within your reach.

I'm using P6000s which are great in the dry but tend to wear down too quickly for my taste. Will have to replace the fronts soon as the outer edges are looking a bit smooth
