What wheels did my car have?

I have recently bought a W124 320 saloon and have been looking through the documentation that came with it. I have a printout of the original spec and as well as the sports chassis with 8 hole rims currently fitted (option 653) it has option 796, "7.5 x 17 et42 225/45, 2-piece (c 01.01.1992)". I have no idea what these wheels look like so if anyone has a picture of them I would be interested. I'm pretty convinced that it did indeed have some form of "AMG" wheels dealer fitted as there is a stamp in the back of the service book "4 x AMG-Laufrader"? Also the original Blaupunkt radio has "Red E320 AMG" written on it in marker pen, probably from when it was in a dealers office with the car on the forecourt (I don't miss the days of carrying a removable head unit around!!)

Does anyone have a clue as to what my car used to wear?

I'd say it was those wheels. IMO the nastiest wheel ever to be fitted to a W124! They will also be darned expensive to refurbish properly

I agree with you Nick, they really would not suit it. I'll stick with the 8 hole ones, they will probably give a better ride anyway.

Those are the alloys your car had,and the seller is a member here

I really like the wheels, classic 1990's look, just not on an otherwise standard looking W124. I may just do a bit of photoshopping though to see if I'm right in ruling a change out!

Apart from what I guess was the wrong amount of dish on the rear I think they would have looked great on the seller's SL
