Whats your strategy for year 2030 / ban of ICE vehicles?

Hardly the best way to live your life though is it?
“we’ll find a way” Err, no thanks.
Some already have to “find a way” with their ICE car albeit in other respects.

In very crowded on-street parking only areas, some residents may have to park a short walk from their home, in another road, in a public car park, or just away from their front door. Not ideal but they manage.

I’m sure that if there’s ever an EV-only future then those same people will find a way to charge them too, charging them in another road, in a public car park or just away from their front door.

Driving an EV probably won’t change much, it still won’t be ideal, but they’ll manage.

I guess it would be part of the agreement that you sign when you order the car.......just like you agree to Merc up/downloading stuff to modern models now. No court order required.
It would probably need to be driven by legislation. HMRC wouldn’t want to rely upon individual agreements between a person and a car manufacturer for sharing such data, it would be too complicated.

And can a government agency access your mobile phone without a court order? Perhaps GCHQ can... but they are hardly likely to be utilised to spy after EVs
Actually, GCHQ isn’t allowed to access mobile phones without permission. But neither are we allowed to drive at over 70mph on the UK’s public roads.

Anyone know what the total power i.e. electric demand will be for the integrated EV recharging structure envisaged under the govt's NetZero strategy?
And how that compares to existing demand? Haven't read the document(s) and perhaps some kind and dedicated soul on here has.
Is this achievable, given the drive for power generation by renewables and what vehicle numbers are envisaged?
Yes, well documented by the head of the National Grid. From memory we're using a third less than we did two decades ago, and the volume of power used continues to collapse. From your office to your home, you're using far less power than you used to. Remember the days of hot computers, TV's, and 150 watt lightbulbs? Long gone.

Adding on another five years for me will have a huge impact on the market. Second hand EV’s are already struggling to move as it is. Confidence is a big player in people’s minds when renewing their vehicle. One old friend/adversary who was contemplating getting involved in selling used EV’s, is now rethinking.

Keep threatening to not vote Conservative!😉😂

I’m not an anarchist or anything but sometimes I read things that wind me up so much. All these threats….
It’s not anarchistic to to disagree with threats Darrell, wherever there from.
In my long lifetime I’ve never witnessed so much punitive legislation levelled on our population by such a banal, bloated, hapless and unaccountable bunch of halfwits, who have by one means or another achieved their authority.
Seems a fair percentage have had enough.

A good trader makes money no matter what way the prices move. It’s those who took the position who take the hit.

EV’s were bought for tax purposes. Everyone wins if they’re worth a bit less come second user time. No different to the used prices of company Mondeos.

The car industry has made record profits these last couple of years.

“Don’t cry for me, Merc and Elon. The truth is … there’s more to this than the UK market.”

Which is why we left the EU.

So relish the fact that this piece is being pulled back…

I'll think about it in 2030, if I'm still here, certainly not thinking about it now.
Correction, 2035 now. 🙂👍
