Wheel refurb

i am not sure about mobile wheel /alloy refurbishers.but i had my alloys from M5 & E43
Mind me asking:What model was that E43,cos i never heard about:dk:

No more obscure than W210 for an E class.

Doing some E39 M5 and E46 M3 wheels next week myself.

i didnt mean TO offend any one ?!

How much of a workshop can u fit in a van ?

When i had my wheels done . they mearsured the deepest kerb damage in mm and simply laser cut a new lip. i know if refurbd too much this could possibly make your wheel weaker.

I wasnt aware that this could also be done in a van ?

Sorry if i offended any one..... I was simply giving my opinion.

I don't think they cut a laser lip. Profiles are cut on centre or CNC lathes. Also the best way is to alloy weld deep scuffs so you don't have to skim the surface to the lowest point - that's just lazy.

Just picked up my wheels from spit and polish, they are off an e46 Alpina B3S con 6 years old with 16k on the clock in pretty good condition just lite marks on nearside. Thought I would get them looking like new before new tyres fitted. If you saw them when I picked them up you would not believe your eyes. the wheels have centre valves, one of them sprayed with the valve centre still hanging out one valve had so much paint on it you could not see the tread, hook marks great lumps of hard paint where the tyre rims fit dust or small stones under the paint orange peel effect I could go on but you get the picture. They have said sorry and are doing them again but how can you turn out work like this. The guy who looked at them just said I don't know what's happened and put down poor finish, hook marks, no dust caps. you would never get valve inserts back into these wheels to pump them up.
Just be careful who you get to do your wheels. I will buy new wheels before I put these back on my car. Rant over. Chris

Funny you should be asking about this problem,as last week (Wednesday) i had my 18's polished and repaired.Three needed kerb repairs and one just needed to be polished due to the winter weather(oxidising). The MOBILE guy came round jacked up the car and took the wheels away and then returned with them all done on the Thursday. He was recommended to me from andy(Merctec sidcup)He did a grand job and not that bad on price either.

Those are w220 AMG wheels, are you using spacers with those?

Wheel refurbishing is like accountancy, everyone recommends their own!

I like the fact they come and collect ..

Was the whole wheel stripped, repainted and relacquered?

How much?

Yes ET29 front sorry. The wheels were in not bad shape really it was just the outter lips that had taken the beating so it was really only the polished part i had refurbed
