The xenon headlight on my car has suddenly stopped working. I had someone look at it, and swapped the bulb and ballast over to the other side, and it was working fine.

I'll check the fuse next, does anybody know where it is. It doesn't say so in the fuse diagram.

Thanks.

There may not be a seperate fuse for it.

Have you looked in the fusebox under the bonnet?

Sometimes it's quicker to check all of them.

From memory....open drivers door, at the end of the dashboard is a fuse box, pull the cover off and take a look.

Yes, it's there but the diagram doesn't say which one it is, and the fuse diagram don't list all the fuses and their functions.

I started a similar thread about the cigarette lighter socket fuse, and was told that Mercedes keep some of the fuses and their functions a secret.

I'll go into a dealer tomorrow and try and get this sorted as quickly as possible. I can't work otherwise!

Like BlackC55 mentioned, there are no fuses for individual head lights. The only fuse I can find (I assume this is a pre-facelift 211 with Xenon lights?) is for self levelling.

Did you try if the the previously working burner and ballast behaved the same on the side that had problems? Must be either a wiring harness short circuit somewhere or a contact issue at the front SAM (driver or passenger side accordingly to the problem). If it was a prefuse issue at the SAM, other features should be affected.

Yes, I had someone look at it and moved the bulb and ballast to the other (good) side and it was working fine, so as suggested must be something wrong with the circuit.
