I use Britannia Rescue

I have had Britannia Rescue for about 20 years, and never had need to call them out until two weeks ago.

I broke down on the A420, tried unsuccessfully for about 20 minutes to get restarted, then called them. A mechanic was with me in about 10 minutes. He just arrived as I got the car started, so he had nothing to do. However I was very impressed with the quick response.

I'm with the RAC and have used them twice in the last 2 years. When my fuel pipe connection broke and sprayed diesel all over the engine they managed to fashion a temporary repair and cleaned the bay for safety. A failed battery after a long time away was jumpstarted from a difficult location using amazingly long leads. I have had good experiences with the RAC - they are comparatively expensive though. Many years ago my experience with AA was that they wriggled out of helping by pointing to the small print about distance from home (I didn't have homestart) - I had attempted to make it home and got too close apparently!

I am with auto aid. I haven't needed to use them yet but the reviews on the money saving expert site are good. It is a pay and reclaim policy that is very comprehensive. It insures the driver and not the car and spouses / partners are included for free.
