Whining Noise from rear - Diff ?

Diff replacementt

I have just had the diff replaced on my 200TE, I can't believe the difference in noise level ... it used to drive me crackers ...

Just take the advice given here.
Pump a dozen squirts of Molybdenum (black) grease into diff.
It makes no difference that it will mix with oil and go runny.
Its the Moly molecules you need, they will plate all working surfaces and you will know iff it the diff in a very short time. It will do NO harm. Can be left in for ever.
The army here in OZ used to put Moly additives in diffs, gearboxes etc (prob still does) as extra insurance for combat reliability.

Just do it

If noise goes then its the diff... live with it until it comes back... if noise still there.... move to next bit.
