Who’s going to win this argument?

Without knowing the cause of the fire, it’s difficult to say who’s responsible. Mercedes said it wasn’t them, so they have to know the cause.

Anyway, serves the guy right for buying a diesel ;)

FWIW , the chap should claim his insurance and move on as proving it was the fault of MB is going to be almost impossible , as it will be less hassle in the long run all-be-it initially more expensive.

This would be the OM642 engine.

Is this the model that had the recall for the coolant pump that can catch fire?

But possibly the recall work has already been carried out?

What has him being an NHS worker got to do with the price of fish?

"Kevin, who works for the NHS, told Chronicle Live that the whole situation has left him having sleepless nights. He said: "I just want it to be over, I'm sick of it.

"It's gone on for far too long and I've had enough. There's something to do every night and it just seems to take up time and causes so much stress, you got to bed and you're stressing at night time thinking what's going to be the outcome?"

I would suggest that going through his insurance would be far quicker than waiting for Mercedes to admit that anything could ever go wrong with their manufacturing or repairs.

Blimey, I thought it was only EVs that caught fire? 😂 (Sarcasm disclaimer)
