Put it on eBay. You may laugh but I bet you get some offers. :)

Did mine today, or should I say I had a sealant put on it by the local firm who I have used for three years . Now it's p***ing down

Did mine 3 weeks ago

  • Rinse with low pressure hosepipe.
  • Snowfoam twice - low pressure hosepipe rinse off in between applications
  • Pressure washer rinse off
  • Hand Wash with pH neutral - 2 bucket/mitt and hosepipe rinse off
  • Clay cloth whilst still wet
  • Microfibre dry off
  • Rubbers using C4
  • Fine cut (Scholl Concepts) with DA with subsequent microfibre
  • Diluted massively IPA on cloth and wipe off
  • Polish (Meguiars) with DA then microfibre
  • Hand Wax with Fusso
  • Hand Wax 24h later
  • Wheels done off of car and refitted over a separate weekend
It takes me the whole day but worth the effort as suspect ends up at 90% of what a professional detailer could achieve.

That c4 is awesome stuff isn't it mate, how do you rate the clay mitts?
I've just moved on gyeon products and have to say I am loving them. :thumb:

Yeah, gonna do a full winter decon (clay bar and iron remover, hand polish etc) prep. But this year I think I’m gonna forgo the paste wax and BSD combo, for Turtle Wax seal n shine only... hope it’s really as protective as it seems!

Teddy, collinite 546s is a good winter wax to try. :thumb:

I did not get on with the clay mitt but clay cloth is really good. Still use clay bar and "lube" but only if preparing a new car for the first time.

C4 - hate paying the price but without a doubt works well.

Gyeon products are good but have not stocked up on them, as too many others on the shelf. I swear by their ceramic coatings......was a cynic but found them to really work. Car lives outside and the coating lasted a good 8-9months with nothing but washing with Meguairs Gold Class. I will most definitely be recoating at some stage.

I've got there ceramic coating just not got it right yet to warrant using it. I need to get the rupes on the job first before applying it.:thumb:

Nice gesture though, they don't know most of us are a tad OCD.:)

When I booked my car in for a service at MB Brooklands, they specifically asked if I did NOT want to have it washed. Made me think that they must be getting a lot of enthusiasts bringing their cars there - and they know their clients...

Do you mean 476?

I'm trying to stick with an easier solution than the paste wax, and the slickness and durability of Seal & Shine is staggering! Outperforms much more expensive products...

I'm happy with Bilt Hamer DSW and then BSD as a topper, beading and durability of BSD is incredible, but I miss the slickness. Seal & Shine seems to outlast it and give you the slickness, with almost the same level of beading.

Yes sorry!

Managed to find an old duster in the cupboard under the sink and a can of Pledge...sorted :D
