Why can't SatNav be personalised this way?

Sad thought the other day....wouldn't it be great if you could buy a chip to personalise the SatNav voice in your car.

For example you are a Rally enthusiast and the computer wants you to turn right in 100 yds:

Standard response: Please take the first exit 100 yards ahead on right.

Rally enthusiast response: 100yds, medium right, caution,

Or you are Welsh....

Welsh response: 100yds, yakidar right, there will be a welcome in the hillsides, specialist leek shop on corner (You may take it from this that I know no Welsh words).

Or you are a rapper....

Rapper response: Oi you the rock steady crew turn right in 100 or you will be in the poo!

You are one of the landed gentry.....

Posh response: Would Sir kindly like to take the 1st exit on the right in 100 of the Queens yards.

You get the idea....good, now I am going to take the medication as per the court order!

theres a funny sat nav situation in the film "love,honour and obey" when the system says to go left at the roundabout the guy replies "round and round the roundabout the ragged raskel ran" and then argues with it saying it didnt warn him quick enough.
Or is it just me. !!!

I thought that you could change all the voice files with the current Ipaq based Satnav systems.

I had this exact conversation with a guy at work months ago.

We had a master plan to make millions by selling celebrity voices for our patented Sat Nav system.

You could have Ali G or Victor Meldrew etc

I don't belieeeeeeeve et! I told you to take the next left. U turn at next roundabout!!!!!!


The system, also included abuse for not following instructions correctly.

Having missed 3 instructions in a row, it would question if you were just stupid or not listening, tell you where to go and then switch off!!!

But this was just one of any get rich quick ideas that we have failed to implement.

I love that idea The possibilities are endless, Jim Royle ("TMC says 10 min delay - my ar$e") , Fred from Corrie (Turn left here .. I say turn left here), Kylie moaning "ohhh that turn made me hot" ....... oh sorry, lapsing into personal fantasy now
