Widebody 560 SEC AMG

I do believe this is the mythical SEC driving around Coventry. I'm not surprised about the description considering the location of the photos. (Crack central!)

The wheels are odd, have they been sprayed up? Does look very "westwood gangster"

Description is a giggle

Oh dear ..... poor old beast ...

Needs rescuing but not for fifteen grand though.

Maybe that price includes the half kilo of coke that fell inside the door panel that he couldn't reach ? :D

oh no.. what a shame...

This is the one that was on PH advertised at 2500... this chap went over and bought it but the price was a typo and he paid £12,500.

It looks worse now than it did back then.

This is the one that is parked on foleshill road coventry most days...
The number of people that ring me and say "do you know your car is in Coventry..."

Im sure this is the same guy that owns the Lorinser SL too.

Its not worth anywhere near 15K... maybe 6 or 7 allowing 2-4K to get it right.

It would be a nice forum project to de-barry that and get it looking like Jays :)

i drove past that one the other week on foleshill road, the tints are rediculously dark. apart from the wrong AMG badge, odd looking exhaust, bonnet star and rear lights what needs doing to it?

12,500 !!!

My good friend who is an avid car collector...bought an original AMG SEC Widebody..done by Strattons UK...with DOHC 5.0 engine....for 12.5k !

Based on those pics, de-barrying it shouldn't be too much work ?

talbir

Shouldnt be but the original PH advert mentioned that rust needed to be tackled.. Ill bet its still there.

"de-barrying" another term for de-chav me thinks :-) , it does need rescuing as I guess not too many of these still exist.

Is it a factory AMG or Strattons documented vehicle?

That has an enormous bearing on the value.

Seeing as it seems to have a 560 motor in it, and not many people went to the expense of ordering widebody cosmetics at huge cost and not bother with any mechanical enhancement I'd assume it was a bitsa car built later.

Has anyone actually seen it and have any history for it?

Is you thinking of coming back than?:bannana:

I would but I very much doubt it would be with that car:dk:

Mine went because Mrs M found it difficult to get in and out of....an E500/500E would be more practical if I were to buy a weekend car.

Im not sure id agree as a lot of strattons and other conversions had standard engines.. the engine upgrade was enormous cost..
During my research I saw them with lots of different standards of upgrade.. some interior only, some exterior only, some engine only and any combination in between.. there must have been thousands of combinations looking through the catalogues.

There was no set menu. Very few actually said "yes ill have it all please"

Also im still not convinced that these 80's AMG agents were any good.. Ive seen expanding foam, terrible welding, bad alignment etc etc.
The white one recently mentioned on here (that i went to see a couple of years ago) is a prime example..
Original strattons car with nothing but the widebody kit, wheels and different door cards.

So IMO i would give two jots about it being an original Strattons.. id only look at the condition of it now.
