I replaced my rear factory fit Conti tyres on the W211 E220 CDi at 26K miles for some excellent Bridgestones. (245/45 17) My fronts still had plenty of tread at the time. I have now done 40K and popped into my local tyre place to get them checked because I thought it must be time to change them.

Any way they still have not reached the tyre tread replacement markers and the chaps said I will probably get an other 7K miles out of them :D !!!

What a great disappointment, I was hoping to replace them with some nice quiet and gripy Bridgestones Potenza RE050's I have on the rear and can not justify throwing the tyres away until they a completely gone. :(

Will these fronts every wear out

Now if you'd brought your car to Bruntingthorpe and lent it out then I'm sure we could have solved your problem. ;) ;) :D

Me too. I replaced my rear contis after 45,000 miles and did the fronts at the same time even though they did have some life left in them. I've found them noisy but very hard wearing - and so they should be - cos they're not cheap.

Tyres are a personal thing, but its always nice to find someone with similar views on the subject!

Got Conti's on the front of my car ... they were probably about half worn when I got the car 12000 miles ago, and have hardly lost any tread since (despite a few laps of Bruntingthorpe !!!) The Pirellis on the rear seem to be equally hardwearing.

What are the Pirellis like? Also which model/size??

I need some new tyres soon and am uncertain which is the best to get for my c36.
I had looked on mytyres.co.uk and checked out the german tyre review website found on most tyre prices at mytyres and had considered the Bridgestone's as they had the best reports.

Any advice would be appreciated. I dont believe I can get Vredestiens for the rears so that rules them out :(

Pirelli P7 ... I'd say they were more towards the budget end of the range, 225/55/16. No fancy tread pattern or anything.

Grip is fantastic. Ride quality & road noise are worse than I would expect though from 16" wheels - but I guess that's the price you pay for hardwearing rubber.

I have always been very pleased with Goodyear F1s. FWIW I think they would be well suited to a car such as the C36, Outstanding grip in wet and dry conditions, reasonable noise and wear rates and not unreasonably priced either. :)

Must have bought about a dozen or so in the last year on various wheels that I've had!

The Bridgestones on the rear are doing well, I know quite a few people said Bridgestones are not great but I have found them fantastic. Also they fit them to the Ferrari Enzo so they must be good for something.

I must admit I was impressed by the write up for the Bridgestone tyres.

I have used F1's, but I thought they wore out a bit quick. I have tried Falken, and I wouldn't recommend them as being anything other than inexpensive, well they do make a fair amount of smoke if encouraged but that is not my main purchasing requirement. :D
