I went to go out today, put the shift lever into reverse as normal but the car will not move. The parking brake indication and electronic handbrake light extinhuish but upon trying to reverse, the car 'haunches up' with an audible 'thunk'. I can't try going forwads as I risk sending the car into my lounge. Ahead of an MB specialist visiting me tomorrow has anyone else experienced this?
The car is a 2017 C Class C200 AMG Line Premium Plus Night Edition (very nice!), covered K26 with a full MB history, last serviced in October and under the Used Approved Warranty which I'm hoping will sort this out with no quibbles But again does anyone have any experience of the Used Approved Warranty?

If you haven't used the car for a while I would imagine the parking brake pads are stuck on, I would think a little more revs would get it moving.
Hope it's a simple as that.

Thanks for the reply Fununcle and you were right. I'd washed it two days before and literally moved it a foot back into it's usual spot after I'd finished. It didn't help that the car including the wheels were horrendously filthy so that dirt helped form a nice seal between pad and disc. Do the front pads activate from the parking switch too? I've a definite judder from the front brakes now.

Glad you got it moving, no not the fronts. I would imagine there is a bit of the friction material from the pads stuck to the discs, if so a couple of sharp stops should clean it off.

Thanks, will give that a try.

It's a good idea to take the car for a little spin after washing: cleans and dries the brakes a dries the rest of the car (if it's not raining . . . ;) ).

A little update on this one; the juddering through the pedal and the steering wheel just would not clear so I eventually booked my car in to a local garage who I know are 100% trustworthy. It turns out that I need new pads and discs on all corners. Obviously a hideously expensive mistake that I won't be repeating 😭
