Will this space saver fit on my E500?

Why space savers? They are designed to be used as a temp measure, at a limited speed and a limited distance. Just find a set of steel wheels. Some steel wheels for sale on the classified on this site but you will need to check compatibility.

There is an 8" R129 steel wheel available, pop over to Merc and see on the cost.

I intend to do the same when I get some winter tyres fitted.

Dave!

Hi Pupsi!
I’ve found thread where you are selling Turbo Technics W124 300E-24V Twin Turbo Kit (sorry, but can’t post in that thread).
Let me know if you still got this for sale.

Maybe this will help you understand me:

Arch Rolling and Banded Steels

I notice that they are full of re-assuring remarks about quality and safety but I cannot find any mention of comparative strength and fatigue tests to give a proper assessment of their modified wheel versus a standard wheel.

Many years ago I was involved in development testing of the Austin Metro. The original wheel as required by the stylists consistently failed through fatigue after only 1500 simulated miles. However, it required only a very minor change to get the life to exceed 100000 miles. Steel wheels are very complex items and I certainly wouldn't make major structural changes without strength/fatigue testing.

I would also wonder if these modified wheels would be legal in view of the ludicrous amount of regulation there is these days.

In comparison to the cost of a life, proper wheels are cheap enough.

Hi mate,
Have still got the kit available.
Have a couple people waiting on pics though, so will update the thread hopefully today with them.
Thanks

Thanks for replay.
Also would like to see some pictures.
If it’s really new and complete kit for M104 3.0L 24v engine, I think, I’m ready to bay.
