I want like a "vote" if u guys would be so kind as to whether u guys (the UK MB Community) think its nice on mercs (tints). And if u do, please post what density u would have.

So for example, i'm looking to get mine Dark on the back 3, and semi-dark on the front 2. but hopefully your opinions might redirect me to do the right thing...

I personally prefer an even tint all round, rather than the 'van look'.

I would stick to legal density if I were you, as the boys in blue are getting tough on front windows that are too dark.

Definately no more than a light smoke all round.......to me this looks the biz.

Light tint all round looks fantastic, sadly due to the tint level on the factory glass, almost all tinting forward of the B pillar (i.e. front windows) is now effectively illegal.

I had mine tinted and just had the rears done darker (i.e. the van look!). I'm really pleased with it, looks fantastic and cuts down the heat in the summer.

Have a look at my gallery pic of the W203

Personally I wouldn't bother.

If you're that bothered about being seen in you car either buy a better car or wear a bag over your head...

well.. i'm a big believer in "envy", even though my car isn't the mutts nuts, its still a merc, and some people are so narrow minded these days u wouldn't believe it...

Tints would disable them from envying me!
:D

Dark tint on the back windows looks fine a a new S class for various reasons. Even OK on a new E class. But not on the C class. Or any thing older than 2-3 years.
But thats just my opinion. Its your car and you can paint it fluorescent pink if you want too.

smoke is as dark as you want to go with the tint on the back windows.

I perfer sitting in the back of the 5 series with the darkened windows to the front , makes the car look really good too :)

medium smoke back three + 1/4 's....... for the kids and it bloody works no more glare for them ...and for me and wife oakleys :D

I'm going for limo tint from B pillar back and medium/light tint between A and B pillar

i went for medium/dark on mine and have had a few looks from the police... may have to revert back to lighter as im having to open all the windows everytime i see them and its getting a bit cold...

If like you were to like think about like what your saying it like doesn't make sense? There is a legal limit regarding tinting for front windows and like windscreens. If you obscure the glass so that like you cannot be seen, then like can you see clearly from within?

It might sound blunt about putting a paper bag over your head,m so if you don't want to be seen driving a Mercedes, then don't drive one?

You sound like someone who is very proud of their wheels and I would suggest a nice subtle tint and be blowed what anyone else thinks.

Im sorry i dont agree. I think the police generally aim at the nova boys that use cheap tint that causes light to consderably be blocked from both ways.

If you were to sit in my car, there is no way anyone could say to me that you can see out any less from the sides compared to the front.

if anything it makes it more comfortable to see out of as it takes that edge of bright sunshine which means i dont have to squint as much.

 :D I would never have classed you as a 'nova boy' :)

I understand what your saying but at night and in poor visibilty then your vision has been restricted. You cannot have it both ways. :)

Maybe, i wouldnt mind testing it with a light meter as i honestly dont think there is much difference between what i see out of the windscreen and side windows...

I had the factory dark glass on my previous blue estate, but just the standard avangarde blue tint on my current silver one. Have I noticed any difference in inside temperature or ability to see out? err...no!
I do wear a dark visor on the bike in bright sunshine, but always carry a clear visor under the seat. Not so easy to do with windscreens....

I'm sure the heat inside issue is a complete red herring used by people to justify the dark tint.
Mercedes along with most manufacturers fit heat reflective glass as standard, you can feel the difference if you wind the window down a bit on a sunny day.
