Windows 8.1 is ok in desktop mode, 8 was the dog!!! Windows 7, 8 and 8.1 license holders appear to be eligible to the free upgrade to Windows 10 for a year after launch, supposedly later this year

I'm running 8.1 with no problems. One or two "features" I don't like, but no great problems. Seems stable in my use and is very quick to start & shut down.
Could you add a new bigger disc to your current machine for additional storage in the knowledge that at a later date when you are ready to upgrade that disc could be moved to the new machine?
