I this will probably get moved... but

I really wish I was my C32 out here in Turkey, I'm in a place called Suadiya which is a suburb of Istanbul. I've never been to such a pretensious (sp?) and to be honest posh place. Badtat street (pron Badhdad) is just silly for full on drag racing.

I was say in Starbucks drinking my coffee yesterway watching the world go by. The women here are amazing, I never expected it, but *WOW* properly amazing. Dark olive skin.. *cough* moving on.

Anyway back on track !
Sitting drinking my coffee and when a current gen Porker Turbo pulls up at the lights along side a Mitsi Evo Group N rally car. Looks to be pukka and not a chaved up thing. Cross traffic stops. Mitsi winds up the revs, ALS comes in which stopped everyone in their tracks. I'm a hardened rally spectator, but it did cause me to put down my coffee so I could crane my neck further !!! Lights go green and the accelleration from the Evo was amazing. Chirp from the tyres and the EVO was away. Just pure grip from it's diffs. Couldn't even hear the Porsche !!!!. Brilliant.:D

Saw the Evo again, as it "cruised by". Definitely genuine thing as the gearbox whine wasn't something you'd put up with in a road car.
No idea who won...I don't think it was important

10 mins later... some Ferrari 550 vs yank tank V8 think. Lots of smoke from the vette. Ferrari 550 won hands down. Fantastic noise

Never expect there to me so much cash over here, but clearly looking at the (Rolex, Zara, Marks and Spencers... ok not quite so posh... but unexpected). Never expected the ratio of good lucking women to erm.....not so good lucking women to be so high either !

Still I miss my C32. Hopefully will see it soon.

Hmmm where for lunch.... Starbucks maybe .. Shame I didn't bring my sodding camera.

Mark

Starbucks all the way for me anyway :D! God you make me want to visit it...

Lots of money to be made in Turkey from the products of the opium poppy .... ;)

Good luck to them growing poppys ! It's pissed it down for most of last week. Up until yesterday going out needed a decent fleece too... bloody perishing. Today is nice though. About 16c and sunny

Morocco is the same too - lots of money/investment going on - Casa Blanca is full of top of the range Mercs/Ferrais etc. as well. Ohh… the women are even more better looking in Morocco...;) :)

I spent 3 months in the desert in Morocco in 1997 , and i can thoroughly agree with you there Flash !!

Scooby, slightly OT but your avatar is your rally car right ?

Is it just parked up in a layby , or is it an 'action' photo about to career through the fence and into the field ?

Whatever, it looks cool !

I'll dig out the actually in-car footage of it when I return to the UK. Lets just say I had a moment of extreame 205 Lift off oversteer moment. I've got the images on my laptop but are embedded in a Word document for some reason.

I'll see if I can ftp to my Web space.

Sorry can't extract them from this document. I've got them at home though.

It's only about 200kb.
You can see the black lines start a long time ago in the first image. In car footage is good as you see my wind on LOTs of opposite lock, then swear.. then you hear the MASSIVE noise of the popcorn gravel going everywhere.

Probably doing about 60 ~ 70 when it started to go slightly Pete Tong

It was at Harewood Hillclimb

This is in-car from the same venue. You can just see where I go off from in the car. After a straight where I miss a gear, then snick left and 90 right.
This video isn't my best as I truely through my toys out of the pram. It was wet and I wasn't having a good day !

OK 2 more. Again these are quite old is the are just on my laptop HD here in Turkey.

Loton Park in Shropshire.
Brilliant Hillclimb event. Proper up and down hill. Very fast in places with some interesting lines I cut corners a bit and you hear the underside of the car "chink" on the floor flat in 3rd !

Much better video from Harewood. Quite neat and tidy. No swearing !
It's a couple of years ago and I don't think we were running Jenvey Throttle bodies back then so not as much power as we have today.

Just noticed that I do the same thing on the videos above despite being completely different events. As soon as I go over the line, back off (obviously), but I immediately reach down to a switch on the centre console and turn the engine fans on ! (the engine has no automatic fan, and is soley on a manual switches. Can't be wasting anything on a run !)

Word compresses embedded images automatically, so it's a good way to email pictures to people without the risk of sending huge files.

Definitely, we were out there in September I was impressed on both counts ;)

I think I can guess what you were thinking in each of the three shots in the Word document!!

Cant you pick up an el-cheapo digi-cam over there for nothing?

My business partner is in morocco atm on a shoot - he hates the place - or more rightly the "stinking thievin' arabs" (his quote...) - but he did just use 30Kgs of ?gunpowder? to blow up some cars - and aparantly caused a riot -LOL

I hope this doesn't hurt too much....and I stop before the fence posts !
I got out straight away, to show that I didn't need the ambulance to turn up. It did though as it was only a couple of yards away down a slip road.

The gravel holed a side window. Tiny tiny hole that is still there to this day.
