Hi I'm looking institutions in how to remove a gear selector on 1999 A160 so I can see if this is a job to try at home or not so if anyone has something relating to this with pictures or diagrams it would be a great help many thanks

Have you looked at Lofty's website? This is the page you need: W168 Automatic Transmission

When I sold my W168, I gave away Haynes manual (and bunch of other bits), but I can't remember if it had a gear selector removal section ...

Probably best to get a WIS page printed, it's unlikely to be covered in consumer service / maintenance manuals.
