We've often heard about some amazing MPG figures acheived by members.
My hat off to you ladies and gents for obtaining these figures!

But I'm sure we've all had a time when we've had a heavy right foot, or our the cars we've owned are less than economical.
So what's your the worst MPG figure you've acheived?

In the E320, over a tank of fuel I one got 13MPG. Needless to say, it was when I first got the car, and it was my first tank of fuel.

I've just used my parents Range Rover for 4 days. In that time I covered just over 500 miles, and acheived an average 11.9MPG :o

I've shamed myself with low MPG figures, so now it's your turn! ;)

Two cars I have owned were not great...

Range Rover 4.4.....average even on a run was sub 17 and I did see the trip computer registering sun 10 for a while:crazy:

Aston Martin V8 from 1978 Filled up in Alnwick and had to fill up again before Cambridge.... bearing in mind that the car had a tank of over 100 litres that wasnt great:eek:
They were kind enough to put two filler caps on it though, so you could have two pumps running at once giving you an outside chance of filling it up in under 2 hours.......

My own cars, i don't know, i've never really had them much below 20mpg before. Cars that i've driven at work are a different matter, regularly go through 50litres of fuel in 100miles testing....

Lowest average for a journey was just under 10 mpg.

VW Sharan V6 4Motion, in a hurry, towing a caravan, strong headwind.

Back in my Halcyon days it was not uncommon to borrow friends cars for short trips..........
At the time I owned a Lotus Elan sprint and got between 20-25mpg usually.
However one of my friends had a Jensen Interceptor and I drove that once. Quite a spirited drive through the Rotherhithe tunnet and on towards Sidcup with a rather heavy foot.
I doubt whether it was even into double figures.
It was a dog to drive and my Elan was faster and could run rings around it anywhere except on a long straight road.

My Nissan Skyline, average 10mpg running round and down to 4mpg when giving it some welly! Car is 550BHP and mapping is done to overfuel the car both for safety and popping serious flames!!!:bannana: :bannana: :bannana: :bannana:

My Skyline did 7mpg over a whole tank during a trackday but will do 20mpg if driven normally

I`d be happy with 20 running round if i could get it! Saying that be happy with 20 from the CL!

My Volvo 760 Turbo was bad on fuel..... 18 mpg if driven hard and fast or slow and gentle. Made no difference. New engine fitted... 25 mpg.

My E55 is pretty bad too.... town around 16-18 mpg and avg so far 25 mpg.

(Even my fathers S600 V12 does better at around 28-29 mpg on a run)

No reason why you couldnt get it mapped so it was better on fuel , mine is still very very rich on boost 10-11/1 afr although its not as powerful as yours i know people with over 600hp getting similar figures

I had mine remapped this year the previous guys who mapped it (Thor racing) set it up very rich also , it would only do 16mpg on a steady motorway cruise

Worst on the road was driving a '454' Chevy pick-up truck with an artic trailer down to Monaco. Result 5mpg! That was neither fun nor fast:(
More recently I was preparing a record run for Bentley down at Nardo where a 'stock' Flying Spur would average over 200mph on a flying lap and a mind numbing 4.6mpg. That's fuel stop every 20minutes:eek:
I do try to be a little less wasteful on the road and when I'm spending my own money:o

Personal worst in my own car, a Supra turbo which got down to 13 mpg after a bout of particularly spirited driving.

Worst rental car - a 4.5 litre petrol land cruiser (in Dubai, some 10 years ago). 7 mpg :o.

And the very worst - a 7.5 ton Mercedes box van, which decided to split the fuel return line. Merrily showering the motorway with diesel in the process, it shot the whole tank (28 gallons) in 70 miles.

Cheers,

Gaz

oh mercboiuk...good thread, finally somewhere where i can show off lol

e320 twin turbo,6mpg on a full tank lol it involved few off the lights and jap car chases lol

Don't really worry about MPG just enjoy driving, and i certainly would not have brought C55 if i was worried about MPG. Thinking about it between 19 and 23 although has been lower depends on the use of the right foot.

Seen 8mpg from my V8 x5 and this was taken from my 3 litre one.

9mpg in the Maserati cruising at 100mph.

I've had my bus up to an indicated 130mph in Europe, was in convoy with a q7 and GL

Doubt it did much at that speed
