Wow new hybrid E class

I'm not sure how they measure MPG with a hybrid. Starting with the battery fully charged, a hybrid could potentially do the urban cycle on electric power alone = infinite MPG. That would be false, because that power would have to be replenished by the engine (consuming fuel to do so) afterwards. I.e. the fuel consumption is 'delayed'.

As the only real advantage of a hybrid is recovering and re-using braking energy, IMO they should start the cycle with the battery fully discharged.

That's exactly how they get the hybrid fuel figures
...and why most are dissapointed they can't match them on a long term basis!

Hours.

First off the marketing department would have started by insisting that they needed some animated eco diagrams to show the system 'just like the Prius' and then after the engineering team gave a big groan followed by adamant demands by marketing that this was a critical feature they'd have to figure that it needed the star somewhere.

Pathetic.

But if they manage to avoid the dinky irritating gear lever and stupid startup sequence then maybe the engineering department will have recovered some pride and self-respect for the company.
