Is being sold by Bob in Surrey, the guy I bought my cabriolet from and a more honest car dealer I have yet to meet. He didn't even count my money, he just locked it in a drawer and told me it would still be there in a week if I wasn't satisfied and wanted it back.

The car looks straight and I am certain it will be just as he describes it. And with a buy it now price of £2000 it looks a proper bargain to me. Or a damn good upgrade for Howard

If it's still there on Friday I'll be calling him myself

Shame about the AC, hope it is just a re-gas - but if so why has he not had it done for the want of £70.
If it is in the shape he says I would expect it to get to £2k so it might be worth giving him a call if anyone is interested.

The AC problem is likely to need a new condenser, its a design floor, where leaves get stuck between the fans and the condenser. Expect a bill of £250-300.

Dont bother calling him though, the car is now sold.

How do I know ?? Well I'm the new owner. I just agreed a deal for less than the buy it now price and had 6 months road tax thrown in. Report to follow when I pick it up on Saturday.

And if I can make the hard decision there is a possibility the Cabriolet may be for sale in a month or so, watch this space.

Perhaps there's a tendancy to trot out stuff about things looking too good to be true, but on the basis that you know and trust Bob, this seems to be the bargain of the year.

OK, the aircon needs attention and the spec is modest, but under £2k with tax sounds great - and a one-owner too

Trouble is, I wouldn't to let Howard know about this...

Nice one Ray, glad you took some advice re a phone call. With reference to Bob, I have met him too. Talk about straight this guy makes a ruler look bent. If Bob says the car is right then the car IS right. Can't wait to get my grubby hands on it

It looks a nice example Ray. To me it looks like it's had the o/s front wing sprayed and it needs a good machine polish to remove swirls, otherwise very tidy.

Be interesting to hear a report once you collect it.

Picking it up tomorrow, good old network rail or whoever.

If I went down on Saturday the fare was £83-60. Travel down Sunday and it's £18-50. Weird but being a cheapskate at heart I chose Sunday.
I'll let you know tomorrow evening if I got my moneys worth.
