    HOWTO: Diesel delivery valve leaks

Most fuel leaks on the OM606 engine happen around the fuel pump, specifically the plastic fuel lines between the pump and the two fuel filters. These, while a bit inaccessible, are generally a quick and easy job to replace. Tools: Mercedes splined tool part no - 617 589 01 09 00 6 x...

    Front bumper W210 (old shape)

Now people might think I'm daft, but I have decided that the front bumper and foglamp/towhook areas are looking decidedly dull and horrid. How big a job is it to remove the bumper and that lot, so I can stick it on a bench and give it all a good solid clean, and make it a bit shinier?

    Right pads?

I changed the discs the other week, and went to change the pads today. I think EBC have sent me the wrong pads. Just to confirm, heres the new one on the left, compared to the old ones in the caliper: New ones appear to have 2 holes for pins, the caliper only has 1 pin from what I can...

    Howto: refurbish headlamps

I spotted this on another forum and thought I'd give it a go. Heres the thread. http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w210-e-class/1305149-headlight-lens-restore.html I'll not dwell on the words too much as the pictures are mostly self explanatory. Tools required - 8mm socket (long), medium flat...

    Couple of questions

    1) Is there a steering damper on my car, and where is it? On the control arm somewhere? I presume a replacement (if needed) wouldn't affect the geometry? I'm asking because I'm still trying to isolate a slight wheel imbalance and slight modulation on braking (even on fresh discs). 2)...

    4 * 8 hole alloys, 7.5J x 16 ET41

As title, not in very good condition, could do with shotblasting and respraying tbh, plenty of scuffing and a bit of bubbling here and there. I could never get them balanced properly either, theres a slight wobble at about 70-80mph on them. Therefore, offers please, they'd be good for a...

    Bit of a knock

Theres a bit of a knock on either cylinder 1 or 2 of my engine (from the front that is). I can hear it faintly, its certainly not a massive knock, although I can feel it if I rest my finger on the line from the injector pump (its the bottom of the 2 lines). The engine appears to run absolutely...

    Will these wheels fit?

    I bought 4 wheels from an S-class owner, but being the first time I've done this I didn't bother to check compatibility. ****. Anyhow, the wheels are 8J x 16 H2 ET34 The manual says 7 1/2J x 16 H2 ET41 or 8J x 17 H2 ET37 or 8J x 18 H2 ET31 I've put one on, and so far as I can see the...

    Taste is an individual thing

It looks like one of those Chinese copies that have been posted on the internet. But no, this is a real W210 butchered by some idiot somewhere on t'internet. /edit: Actually, its not a W210 at all. Please ban me for thinking such filth.

    Howto: Change engine mounts

At 176,000 miles the engine mounts could do with changing. The car shakes slightly when the engine is killed, and the steering wheel vibrates gently when idling. Not things a Merc should do. Job should take about 2 hours, no more. Tools required: Ramps Scissor jack (or trolley jack but...

    Engine mounts

I am about to order 2 new engine mounts for my E300TD. The belt tensioning device has yet again decided to pee its contents over the front of the engine (its the shocker that keeps going). http://www.mercedesshop.com/shopforum/showthread.php?t=157401 I have the exact same symptoms as that...
