The first day of the Somme offensive, July 1, 1916, resulted in 57,470 British casualties, 19,240 of them deaths.
That's greater than the total combined British casualties in the Crimean, Boer, and Korean wars.

OK so some plank drove into my E430 estate at the weekend and has broken the front bumper and left a very deep sharp scar on the front wing that will I think require replacement.
The car has done 105,000, is a pretty decent car really has full good history and I guess has quite a lot of life...
Last year Ferrari and Maclaren were caught up in an epic battle to the death, and since then their relative performance seems to have been hampered, possibly because development of the 2009 cars were put on ice in favour of eeking out every last drop from the 2008 cars.
