I must be getting old but I'm constantly amused by the cleverness of the software in the E63.
Most of the time the car is set to C mode on the gearbox - even at that setting it will see off most of the kids in Hot Hatches should I have a mind to, and it has a much more relaxed approach to...
This is not my first C class - in fact it's my 3rd.
Which is why I was confused when I lost the clock today. I eventually found it on the outside temperature gauge page. I was sure that's not where it started!
A few minutes later it moved down to the cluster where the mileage is...
Hello everybody.
As I started to look around for a new car, I did lots of reading and searching and watching videos (lots and lots), to tried to narrow down the list of what I would like and what I could have. Finally I think that I have made my mind up and there is no better place to start...
But damn, it was fun :thumb:.
Gave my petrolhead mate a ride in the new car today.
He explained that from apex A to specific point B he could hit 90mph in his F11 530d.
His pal could hit 120mph in an Aston Martin V12 Vanquish.
So, we set off to play.
Rounded the apex and foot to the...
... decided to put a captive nut on the lower suspension arm on a W124 for the ARB bush. Thanks, it sheered and i had to angle gride the side off the welded tiny 'box' secion to get it out and put a new nut in it.
surely there is a better way to hold it on to the arm than that....

I went for my first decent run in the CL500 this weekend, across the country to darkest East Yorkshire. Amused to see the trip computer range increasing on the motorway, I saw that earlier this year when I went to Goodwood with a friend in his 7 series Beemer, its as if you are making fuel...
Folks, I've noticed several comments on the forum regarding the depth of thought and engineering expertise which goes into a Benz and I think I may have just experienced my first little MB 'Eureka' moment.
I was out yesterday in the E220 and in an effort to avoid the congestion at some...
I might or might not have a problem with my vito 120. Had its first MOT the other day and when we came to check the emissions we had a hell of a job to get any type of reading out of the exhaust (ended up blocking the pipe up with rags). It was suggested that the pipe might be blocked so off i...
Hi folks,
Just found a "surprise and delight" feature I have never seen before but which impressed me in its simplicity.
The near-side tail/stop bulb blew on our R320 a couple of days ago and of course immediately triggered the warning on the dashboard. Same as most other cars I have...
So this morning the mirrors on the loan W204 I have at the moment would not open. Water had frozen on the exposed part of base/pivot point of the mirror preventing it from opening on both sides. I had to chip off the ice and push them both open while pressing the button!!! Felt a bit silly doing...
Driving along hood up but windows open a bit and got behind a bus giving off black smoke.
Selected recirc to keep out the fumes and by holding the button in the windows close.
Pressing again and holding, the windows open to where they were before.
Clever Merc.
