Hi, My easy closing is acting a bit strange. After a few days it stops working in total. Then after you disconnect/reconnect the battery it works fine. The issue normally starts with the driver's door which I notice doesnt close well without easy closing. It takes about 4 days after recoonection...

Hi again....... Just wondering what has happened to the self closing mechanism on the old Merc estate, it was working fine but has now stopped.....:( Could it be a relay ? As I have replaced all the other ones on the car, if it has one is it hiding somewhere. Thanks Paul

At present i have to press and hold a switch to close my door mirrors, is it possible to have them wired to open and close on ignition?

Hello The rear boot on my car if you close it but don't slam it should then pull the boot in and close it automatically. However although you can hear the motor trying to do this it doesn't pull it in... Any ideas on a fix? Thanks

Noticed yesterday that the boot is now quite hard to close - it needs a real good slam, otherwise it sort of bounces (as if it was locked!) and springs open again. The catch itself looks ok, and its NOT locked. When I slam it, it holds. Any ideas? Thanks!

Didn't quite know where to post this so I went for interior. My 500SE is 17 years old so understandably some things aren't working as they once were. Anyone got any idea what is a likely solution to the pneumatic door closing that's not working any more? Ian

As above, this has happened once or twice. Remedied by re-closing the door, however is this a sign of it not working properly in the future. Coincidantally I don't think the auto wiper system is quite right either...reaction speed seems too slow. Colin.

Ive just bought a 1998 W140 S320L from a freind of the family who owned it since new. The bootlid does not close flush no matter how hard you slam it. I dont know if the problem lies with the self closing mechanism. Anyone got any ideas?

The electric boot closing mechanism on my W124 estate stopped working yesterday. Would anyone be able to shed any light on why this may be? It's not a fuse! I'm still able to close the boot manually, just missing the satisfaction of the wee motor doing it for me! Cheers. Tim
