Just got the car back from an initila check at a dealer, aside from the front bearing and a few bits (front anti roll bar+ bushes) we are in good shape. However the guys pointed out that the oil cooler had been bypassed with a simple link across the box, with the original pipes simply cut off...
I'm sure I don't need to tell you that Airmatic strut problems can be horrendously expensive to fix..
Some of you may already know about the company in America that refurbish struts to a better than new state..
Those that don't can click on the link below..
I did a bit of research on the...
hi all,
is this fuel line, coming to/from the fuel pump a high pressure one? i.e is it imperative that it's put in tightly?
The thing snapped open when i opened an union on the fuel pump.
It does click back in, but when I push that white clippy thing in, it kinda jumps out (i think it's...
I need to replace the headlight lens on my S124. It's suffering from the common problem of broken tabs that should hold the lens in place at the top. I have searched in vain for a suitable clip or clamp to use. Any ideas?
See attached pictures.

Some of you may know I’ve been looking for a new Driver’s seat for the 124 Cab for many years due to a sagging seat and a botched repair attempt. I bought a replacement seat set from a low mileage coupe and used the passenger front seat from that as my Driver’s seat – until that started sagging...
It's no secret that the C63 is prone to a significant rise in oil temperature during spirited driving. Temperatures of 130 Celsius are often seen.
It is not surprising that the Black Series has a significant increase in its oil cooler. It's not practical to start playing around with fitting...
Had a problem with the fan for the heater this weekend not starting so, prepared to take it out to lube up the bearings and clean the brushes again.
For interest, I checked the voltage at the terminals to see if there was an electrical supply problem first and when the probe pressed onto the...
Right here goes guys/girls, my 05c270 done an install today into the boot, 2 12" subs and obviously the amp.
Now I'm guessing with the boot being a steel box it's self I'm struggling to get the quality of bass into the cockpit
So does anybody have any tips for letting the sound out of the...
Evening. My local garage have said it looks like the head gasket needs replacing on my 1992 230te. It's done 170k miles. The suspension bushes also need replacing and engine mounts need doing so is going to be expensive but the question is whether it is going to be worth the money or should I...
So,
A few weeks ago a driving home late one evening, weather was very bad and to cut a potentially long story short, coming out of a hair pin bend slowly and sensibly (no, really, going very slowly at the time), the back of the car stepped out and starting weaving around madly. Once I got it...
Due to a kind member on here I am now able to re-set these faults with a Star.
I did one today and it worked perfectly. No warnings are currently showing at all.
BBA charge £575+vat for this.:eek::eek::eek:
I can do it much cheaper for members on here.:p:D
All,
I have just bought a used MB roof box (see the pictures) I obviously need to fit to my roof bars (not an MB)
The fixings supplied are two sets of one foot long steel straps with threaded studs at each end. What is missing to fit these to roof bars which run across the car?
I have heard there are a few different methods to fix a leaking roof on a R230 SL500. Mine isn't leaking (touch wood) there is the odd drip near the top corner but that's it. Just curious more than anything, hopefully I won't ever need to try a fix but just in case?
Hi! I've had a w123 230E for a while now that I got cheap. I was told it needed a new fuel distributor and it took me ages to find the right one (it's the old one with no electrical regulator). Finally got it fitted but the engine has more problems than that. Whenever I push the accelerator so...
I have a crack in my w208 clk55 AMG bumper. It's not currently on the car so I thought I may as well attempt a repair.
I am just wondering what compound is best to use. I don't actually know what these bumpers are made of.
While I'm at it i will also repair a crack in one of the side skirts...

Just bought a c class 180 2 ltr petrol auto with just 28 k miles on the clock its gorgeous, only broken down 4 times in 600 miles. Keeps coming up with the oil light and ESP light to follow. Main dealer dorchester cannot fix it. they changed oil sensor and fitted new battery and...
I have had my IC pump in a failed state for a while, previously i noticed the loud noise from under the driver side headlight after i turned the car off, it would appear that this is a sign of a failing pump.
i have spend hours researching all the pump information so i though id condense my...
