Hello all and Merry Christmas...bealtedly. CLK windows, when raising and lowering they squeak, judder and jiggle. I have thought of lowering the window, putting some silicone lubricant on the plastic/rubber surround of the window. My worry is I'll end up with grease on the windows? Which...

I was feeling a lot better about the old girl so decided to give her a jolly good clean which I hadn't done in ages as I'd pretty much lost interest. She still looks perty don't she? :bannana:

    Number plate fixing query

On my 2000 W215, the front plates are fixed with two self-tapping screws. Although the previous owner has driven these in in the wrong place, presumably to fit the holes drilled in the wrong place in the number plate, the screws do fit into the factory holes provided for them. These self-tappers...

    Fixing rattles in a R230

I've read many threads about rattles in the SL, and I've had my fair share of them too. On thursday evening I got the urge to investigate an intermittent rattle coming from over my right shoulder. Sounded like a loose washer and comes and goes when I hit occasional pot-holes. Anyone with an...

When is price fixing not price fixing?

I am mighty cheesed of having just seen my (ex) 03 plate SLK320 on a main dealer's forecourt for £5K more than he gave me. Not that I'm surprised, but when I was hawking it about the first thing each dealer did was to reach for the famous guide, or should I say cartel enforcer. Two very famous...

"Ball Park figure" for fixing small dent in door??

I have a small dent on the door of my Black E Class W211. Unfortunatly the person who did this was more inconsiderate than I thought and because of its position I dont think the "Dent Tech" paintless dent repair people will be able to get to it to push it out, so a £40 fix is unlikely. The dent...
