Help! I am not very technical. I have a 2006 C 220 CDI Coupe, I have just returned from driving 2000 miles in France towing a caravan and used the cruise control all the time, the gearbox was set to 'S'. At the end of the journey noticed that I had lost the ability to kick-down to engage a lower...
Hi all, (new here) I have a Vito 2004 (W639) and I am looking for a replacement Gear Knob, I didn't realise how difficult this would be as most places only sell the type where you can't use it for "Lift and reverse" which is what I need...
Ideally I would like something a bit different...

I've got a W211 E Class with the 7G-Tronic gearbox and I'm having a strange problem.
After a while driving fine, the gearbox won't let me select Reverse or Park. I can only select Drive or Neutral. When in Drive it changes through the ratios fine though. I only know there's a problem when...
I'm still getting used to my new (to me) E240.
If you floor it, it seems that the power is automatically lifted for gear changes.
Is this the case? To save on the gearboxes clutches? Didn't do this on my old (lamented) C200k, the power kept on though the gear changes.

Just watched this on iplayer hosted by Chris harris And Rory.
This is tons better than the main show, no mumbling yank.

Hi,
I need some experienced opinions/advice.
Tonight as the Mrs reversed off the drive I heard a noisy squeaky once or twice per revolution sqeal .
It sounded vey much like a metallic type of squeak/scrape . At first I thought it was a brake type noise and then possibly suspension as it squeals...
Hi
We've been having this problem for a while.
Car is a W168 MANUAL A Class.
On start up sometimes the car won't go in to any gear. Foot on and off clutch makes no difference.
Strangely...turning the car off and restarting it and suddenly the car is going in to gear! It then works...
I know it was mentioned some years back, but did anyone ever find out the P/N for the V8 emblem for the top of the gear shift?
I know Jerry in the US does the complete units, but I have a perfectly suitable one here that just needs a new emblem.

Hi folks
My 2001 Vito's been suffering from a loss of power in 5th gear. After 5 mins on the motorway, it seemed like it was going into limp mode. I got a new MAP sensor, but no joy.
Anyway, I took it Merc Commercial last week and they did a few checks and decided it was the Turbo Boost...
Had a replacement automatic transmission fitted a couple of weeks back. It came back to me changing up too late with the advice to run it for a couple of hundred miles to see if it settled down.
Cutting things short, it is now fairly consistently shifting up too early.
To save going back to...
