The oil gauge in my 230CE reads at 3 and I'm wondering if this is normal. The handbook only says to be concerned if below 0.3 at idle. Oil level is between max and min on dipstick.

My friend has just bought a 1992 190e 1.8 petrol with 137,000 mls onn the clock. He says that the oil guage sits at 4 OIL the time,except when turned off. Apparently it sits at 4 on idle,then goes up a bit when taking off then drops back down to 4. Is this too high or normal? Many thanks. Bri.
