My W203 has only done 84,000 miles yet all of the above have gone. First on the offside and looks like now on the drivers.
Is this normal or another example of Mercedes poor build quality?
My 2002 W210 Estate needs a new lower ball joint on the offside front. I've got the part, but it looks a bit tricky to get a ball-joint splitter in there to get the old one off.
I'm assuming I'll need to use spring compressors before attempting to remove the joint (as is normally the case)...
Hi,
Just had my MOT done, passed :bannana: however I was advised that the driver side ball joint is showing abit of play. He advised me to inform my garage the next time I have my service done.
Should I have it changed ASAP or can I manage for a while. I currenlty do about 5K a year or...
Hi all,
I have a 2003 e270d MB and while on the phone to my local dealer today, he told me that my car is due for a "Ball Joint" recall, something relating to the suspension.
I personally havent heard of this recall, anyone else taken their car in for this recall?
Cheers,

Can anyone give me a method for checking the front suspension ball joint play. I know in the MOT test they raise the front suspension arms by jacking them up with the wheels still on the ground but I'm not sure exactly what they look for? Do you look for movement as you are jacking up or when...
I'm just posting to find out if anyone has experience of replacing the lower ball joint/ wishbone suspension arm on a W124.
Mine snapped in a pub car park about 200 miles from home. (The suspension and steering had started to groan about 100 miles into the journey). I've left the car and got...
A lovely little older lady I know (My mum) has just been quoted £484  (without labour) for a double sleeved universal steering joint for her 1999 A160 which I sold her a while back. The steering makes a slight knocking noise when the wheel is turned one way then the other by a small...

After the success of todays (Sun 11/5/03) GTG, I posted some photos on the MB Owners Club forum site.
They have asked if we would be interested in doing a joint informal GTG at some point in the future.
A few of them do occassionally submit to this site already.
Some of them dont really...
