lumpy

Hi can anyone help..my ml270 sometimes idles on 4 cylinders then goes on to 5. sometimes i go to pull away an its on 4 then goes to 5. no warning lights have come on..always starts well hot or ice cold. hope someone can point me in he right direction. Thanks
