I have a 99 e300 td elegance. I purchased a pollen filter and i was supplied one, but i cannot find a home for it. Its well hidden can anyone help, cheers Jim
After reading various threads and having a mildly unpleasant smell in the car I thought I would replace the pollen filter on my 1996 w210 E280.
I emailed Mercedes in Bristol and was duly told they had the item in stock. I phoned them to confirm and today collected the part, BUT it doesn't look...
I was quoted £17 for a pair of pollen filters at the main agents. When I opened the box and they were wrong.
The correct filters (because I have automatic air con) cost a staggering £65 plus VAT
Euro car parts £ 50 plus VAT
There must be a cheaper way. Can I put them in the washing machine?
what a massive difference changing the filter to airflow round the car used to fan setting on 4/5 all time now its 1/2 the filter did not even really look that dirty, but well pleased now. for info its under the dash passenger side just above your feet 2 screws for the interior panel then 2...

OK so a search on this forum shows that a Howto for the W210 pollen filter exists. However, the filters on my E320CDI year 2000 with the indicators on the door mirrors have a different configuration - it has 4 filters in total (2 pollen filters behind the glove box plus two carbon filters below...
Is this an easy job to do? and where is it mounted? My aircon has been serviced but isnt functioning that brill, so I am thinking a new filter may help things along.
Guys,
1. Where the funk are these ?
2. How the funk do I change them ?
I had a look under the dash on the passenger side and found some quite dirty Charcoal filters, but no sign of the rectangular pollen filters.
Looking at the bosch website it seems these are in the glove box ??
Is...
Hi all,
Can anyone find out the correct part number for a W140 (97) pollen filter? The one that isnt charcoal activated, and fits under the bonnet - i.e. not the recirc filter that is inside the cabin. There was a bit of confusion at the stealers about this today, so a part number would...
Does anyone know where the pollen filter is located on a vito 108cdi van. The fan appears to be running but very little air is getting through the vents.
Thanks
Marcos
Hi
Has anyone tried using their car without the pollen filter in place? The filter for the 210 is almost £25 and needs changing often. While changing it the other day i tried the fan without the filter in place and all seemed to work fine.
Also i hear talk of a charcoal filter, is there...
All set to change it but: how do you get the cover off!!
Undone the plastic nut to the rear of the washer bottle filler cap which you would be entitled to think was the key part of the process but nothing wants to move.
What am I missing??
My pollen filter needs renewal. I dug it out from under the dash, and then spent 20 minutes as a contortionist replacing it. :o I wrote down the following part number:
202 830 03 18
I want to buy one from e-bay, but they are often 202 830 08 18. Now I know there are different types...
Just wandering how much a pollen filter costs from stealerships?
This one on ebay at £12.99 seems cheap if any one is interested.

Just changed the pollen filter of my W202 using   Shude's excellent HOWTO
Took me 10 minutes, it was so easy, I nearly fell over :D :D this from a man whose change of MB Club pedals took 90 minutes instead of the 'allocated' 10 to 15 mins  :mad...
