Just back from a few days spent on the Lleyn peninsula. Glorious drive there and back - avoiding motorways and taking the Woodhead Pass rather than the M62 and through Snowdonia rather than the A55. A412 from Bala to Trawsfynydd was especially glorious - virtually no traffic, top down, sweeping...
I'm looking for something interesting... I want a motorised touch-screen (USB/VGA connectors preferrably) and a DVD reader in a single-DIN form factor...
Basically, I don't want the screen to be connected to an internal DVD player - I want the screen to connect to a PC in the boot... but I...
Always wondered how useful these things really are and what benefits something like this would give me with the old C Class!
Would this be a good addition to my garage tool kit for the old girl...
Is it possible to make a fault code reader for the W202 with the 32 pin connector,I know it would only be for basic tests but would come in handy.
The reason I am asking is because of the thread regards the one for the W124.
Thanks all in anticipation.
So if I decided to build myself a Fault Code Reader from my W124, how would I use it?
Where's the diagnostic port, and where can I find a list of fault codes?
TIA
PJ
PS: I am assuming a 12v LED, a momentary push switch and a couple of connectors is all I'd need...
I bought a MemoScanner from E-Bay, plugs into OBDII port. Tried it out and it came up with a few error codes. The booklet supplied with it, lists the error codes and what they refer to. The codes I came up with do not match any of the codes in the booklet. The booklet lists all the models...

Hi All,
I have a W210 E 240 (petrol). Although in excelent condition I thought it would be wise to get a code reader as I usually do my own servising and repairs. I bought a Multiplex unit (carsoft 7.4). Problem is when I run the diagnostic check all I get is a message saying " Module is not...
Afternoon all,
Well changing the brake light switch didn't help.
Has anyone tried one of the code readers available from 'Alpha-bid' on Ebay? They're marked 'S&E Class' so, presumably, with a 38 pin adaptor should fit my 1990 420se? There's no mention on the site of ABS codes though, If...
I am looking for a hand held OBD11 code reader for my ML 270 cdi, 2002 (Canbus)......nothing expensive, just cheap and cheerful will do as long as it can read any fault codes my ML might throw up.
I've found some on ebay but i cant see one that is specifically for the M class, they all seem...

I have the engine light illuminated on my CLK 2.3 Komp, 2000 X reg, is there a fairly cheap way of checking what the fault is, I'll be servicing the car my self so it would be something I'd like to keep, I'd also like to be able clear the service messages...
Many Thanks to anyone that can help...
Can someone give me some advice on purchasing a Fault Code Reader and where I may be able to get one. The Data-link connector is a round 38pin socket.
Thanks in advance
Gooday. (BAzzle from OZ)
My Oz delivered SLK230 auto 1998 only has the 28 pin round socket under the hood for the diagnostic connection.
I have searched the Net for a Code reader and have only come up with one mentioned on the site linked here http://pages.prodigy.net/jforgione/MB_S500.html...
