Hi guys,
Just gave my 190E a wash with the old Karcher pressure washer & noticed that some water escaped into the boot via the rear light clusters. i removed one to investigate & noticed the rubber seal that is stuck to the outside cluster & connects onto the bodywork has perished or is...
Firstly hello from a mercedes newbie,
My first question for the guru's is: Is it possible to purchase the thin rubber strip that runs from the front of the rear wheel arch, across the door and to the back edge of the front wheel arch? As fitted to my 1999 clk230. If so could sombody possible let...
hi
all around the underneath of my R107 there are rubber bungs that are pushed into the bottom of box sections and all along the sills.
Many of these are/were coated with underseal. I am undersealing the whole car and would like to know whether to:
1. cover them with underseal
or...
I understand MB supply the rubber coil spring pad shim things in sizes 1 to 5. Anyone know the depth of each of these pads? I could do with a lift of about 20mm.
Thanks

Strange one this. . . .
After the CLK 320 1998 had done a 200 mile journey I could detect a smell of warm/hot rubber from the nearside rear tyre.
I checked the tyre temp and the inside was warm but not too hot to touch, just like the offside rear tyre. (New tyres all round 300 miles ago)...
Not 100% sure of terminology here.
In the engine bay on my car there is a rubber steering boot on the steering shaft coming through the bulk head, mines split:crazy:
Is this a diy job, I'm fairly confident, I've done wishbones and CV boots before etc.
Dear All,
My rear O/S rubber wheelarch lip is coming loose.
Any advice on what to use to bond it back to the body, as I tried Loctite transparent bond and that isnt holding it...
Could anyone confirm the part numbers for the above, as from what I've received so far there appears to be some discrepency and I'm worried that I might actually order the wrong thing as some of the numbers I've been given might refer to a W209 and not a W208 any help or confirmation would be...
Does anyone know of a decent product that keeps the rubber seals in good condition. My front rubber on the toprail of my widscreen is looking tired (5yrs old R230) and I use Autoglym, but at a recent visit to my MB dealer they put on a far thicker conditioner which has worked well. It can be...
Could anyone tell me how the rubber strip detaches from the bottom edge of driver’s door? It looks as if it should slide off? or dose it pull downwards or do I need to remove door card to release it.

Noticed while scraping the frost off this morning that the trim is either split or has worked it's way from under the glass - hard to tell which.
Is this fairly easy/cheap to put right and will it wait 5 months/5K until I'm in for service or does it warrant putting right asap?
Cheers

Is it easy to change the rubber strips on the outside of the front windows? I find mine don't tend to wipe the mist/rain off the glass when lowering them on a cold day. car is a w202.
Cheers
I know a split steering gaiter is but what about the tie rod end rubber boot on the ball joint ? Can't find it mentioned in the regulations...

Hi folks
After bursting a water pipe (the small vertical rubber pipe between water-pump and thermostat housing) and see the price of a replacement from my MB dealer, I would rather spend the money replacing all the rubber pipes (as much as possible) with their silicon equivalent.
A "kit"...
Today I removed the rubber weather strip around the boot lid frame and see a lot of rust. Is this a common problem for w203 c-class? Has anyone else remove the rubber and checked it out?
Our tyres wear with use.
Do they
a) become denser and not give up any rubber?
b) give up all the worn rubber to the road?
c) vapourise?
d) something else
I assume the answer is d) as total number or cars x mass of rubber lost per car must be a LOT of rubber??
