I'll be opening my transmission to replace the lockup/pwm solenoid. How much oil will I need to replace what will come out? The oil was changed about 10,000km ago so I'm not looking to do a complete flush.
Some places say 3-4 liters, others 6-7..
Folks
I have just noticed that my solenoid is not working meaning i have to use the manual plunger.
I suspect that this is down to excess paint in the mech (car has just had a bare metal re-spray). The manual plunger is stiff. Liberal use of WD40 has not freed this up. I need to get the...

Hello, The thermostat ( PN A642 200 16 45) on my 2010, E350 cdi bluemotion is stuck open. This particular PN has what appears to be a solenoid on top of thermostat housing, which I assume holds theromostat closed until desired temp is reached. My local parts shop sold me a replacement OEM part...
Can anyone remember Mercedes announcing the launch of a new engine in the c class at this time. I was curious as I knew that other manufacturers had already done work on this but it all went quiet and nothing more was mentioned.

Hi all,
My 2001 C320 petrol has developed a loud tapping/ticking noise that from inside the car sounds like a tappet but on closer inspection it turns out the noise is coming from an electrical component sited on the front right hand side inner wing which according to my Haynes manual (American...

Hi,
Can someone tell me please,
Is it difficult to replace a solenoid?
Garage has part in, but master mechanic has to come and do the job.
Surely it's not rocket science.
Thanks
