I have had this problem. Odds on its a wiring fault in the seat causing a short circuit and hence a blown fuse. A common fault in early C class models. The wiring is incorrectly routed over the seat frame, as a result the insulation wears and eventually a short is produced. The seat fuse is in the rear fusebox in the boot, I can't remember which one. You should have a piece of paper in the cabin fusebox which says what all of the fuses are.
The problem is a relatively simple one to fix, the back needs to be taken off the seat and the wiring repaired and re-routed. Should take your dealer no more than one hour.
