03 E55k for a good price...but what do i need to know

Go in with your eyes (and wallet) well open. A multi-owner car of such fuel guzzling proportions will devalue quicker than Gordon Browns popularity. Specially in todays oil jumpy market. Expect to have to sell it on for literally peanuts once it approaches 10 years old.

This may help your decision My E55 Estate W210 has averaged over 20000 miles 24 mpg , the very worst lapping the nurbergring flatout over 4 laps 10 mpg , the best cruising 60 mph motorway on a 40 mile run 33.4mpg Going into london if stuck in traffic may dip to high teens . buy one the best decision you will ever make , a real wolf in sheeps clothing de badged . Regards Humbley

Buy the mad-dog E55 Kompressor or regret it forever!
If they're not new, budget for tyres & brakes and at least one unexpected £1000 bill. Check when it had its last big service (probably around £2000).
Don't try to drive it like a pensioner - this car is not about economising. If you want to save the earth stay in bed!

Sorry to drag this thread up again. I'm in the market for an E55K and have found this thread interesting to say the least.

Other than economy what sort of servicing costs will I incur. I'm looking to buy a 2003/4 model and will be driving about 400miles a week.

Cheers in advance

Jim
