Evening all

The remote locking on my 163 ML has never worked .I have isolated the cause to the a faulty AAM.
I have sourced a replacement unit with matching part numbers, I have fitted this but cannot get my keys to re-sync.
Can I change the programming via STAR ? or is there a different re-sync procedure .
Any help greatly appreciated.

Thought the Aam was part of the das system? Not sure you can do this

The AAM is part of the DAS system on the earlier models , up 99 I think . The later models , mines a 2002 have a revised DAS system ,where the key has to match the ECU and the DAS module located in the EAM .
The Jeep will start with the replacement AAM and all functions work as before but I still don't have working remote central locking .

The sync prodedure is listed in the handbook.

Its something like;

Turn key in outside door lock both ways, get in car, ignition on, hold down lock button...

Something like that but no idea if it works with a second hand AAM module.

Thanks guys ,
Thats a different syncing procedure than I had tried , ill give is a go .

I taught Id update this thread,

There is a way to sync a replacement key , or AAM unit .

I used STAR , and under control unit adaptation, there's an option to synchronise key remote .
