Does any body know how tight the nut holding the front wheel bearing on should be ,
cos i might need to replace the bearing.

Best done by feel, do it up with the wheel on, and have the wheel turning the whole time, failure to do this can result in the rollers making small dents in outer case, and the bearing will quickly fail again, so with the wheel turning, do it up until resistance is felt and the wheel is harder to turn and back off the nut by ½ a turn, or so that the wheel turns freely.

When you have the bearing tightened, use a mallet (wood, copper or leather) and hit the stub axle on the end before tightening the bearing retaining nut.
