Finally got round to taking some pics of the project 190E 'LE'.
Can't believe that the previous owner of this car was going to have it weighed in for scrap
I'm sure most of you will agree that it was worth saving?
It's been a daily car for most of it's life I assume, 130k on the clock with full history and lots of receipts and paperwork, I've even got one of those 'Daimler-Benz' signature stickers in there.
It only had one or two owners from new until last December, so someone obviously loved it!
Have done quite a few jobs to it since purchase, and there's still a couple of minor bits to finish it off in my mind. But it's looking clean and tidy now, everything works properly and it runs/drives lovely
There's a few minor marks here and there on the body, but I guess that's to be expected for the age/mileage and type of car (not a garage queen etc). No rust at all which is nice, these late W201s really seem good in this respect IMO.
One or two small jobs to finish it off I reckon, could do with a new plastic grille insert (tiny chip on one corner), might paint the airbox lid at some point to freshen it up - but nothing that detracts from a nice car all the same.
Sorry for the number of pics, I spent this afternoon giving it a bit of a clean up and wax and got a bit carried away
