1995 Mercedes Benz E320 Sportline Convertible - Damaged (Low Mileage)

Better off selling that for parts, there is no way he is going to save any money what so ever doing the swap over now, is he.....

Hmmm, now you could put a 3.6 in there seeing as it had a 3.2 in it previously. It wouldnt necessarily be because it would save money, but I think the shell could be used rather than break it up.

Looks like the mileage may be genuine looking at the interior, the blue leather still has that matt finish as opposed to the usual shiney look....

Could be put back on the road, but would appeal more to someone who fancies a project with a bigger engine transplant..... How about 5.0 V8 32v lump out of an R129 SL or W140 saloon.... Imagine a W124 E500/500E Cabriolet with the arches!

Would also save an original example getting butchered....

I agree it needs to be saved - anyone up for the challenge :D

The seller says there is a donor car but I suspect that the bonnet and wings on the cabriolet have already been replaced. I would have preferred to see the car untouched after the fire to get a better idea of the extent of damage. Its been "horsed about" a bit too much for my taste.

I would have been tempted if it did not have blue interior, though it looks mint

Personally I like the blue interior. Might be in the minority but I like black, blue and dark red interiors for a 124. Not a fan of pale colours for the inside.

is that personal taste or is blue a no no?

No nothing personal but black would look much better as blue and White is not my cup
If the car was blue, that'll look just lovely

Come on Dash, you know mushroom looks the dogs danglies!.....:)

Talbir's green E500 is proof of that....:thumb:

Oh I got a blue interior in my silver cab and absolutely loathe it.... There's just too much blue, from carpet to dash to sunvisors... you name it, its blue.

Its saving grace is the fact that the navy blue hood goes really well with the silver paintwork, infact even better than a black hood would imo, and the Recaro C classics help give the interior a lift..

What you mean Dee?!!Are we talking a different car here?

i love the blue and white. the loom is what would worry the hell out of me.

imagine a nice quick modern diesel in that. mmmm

glad it's too expensive for me !!!!

I think if you took it on as a project you would need the patience to carry it out, deep pockets to fund it, but the knowledge that what you built would be very unique ;)

To get that car right you would need to buy another e320 with identical spec, that's the only way everything will ever work. Climate control is not a very common option and I think that's the bit that's going to be a problem. And he has an e220 donor car so asides from the panels he has used it's of little use.

And very worthless
