1998 C240 Auto AIR conditioning

Hi Guys I need some help. firstly I'm unsure whether or not I have air con. The owners manual instructs me to set the temp knows to white (middle) and turn EC-OFF. But no cool/cold air. Where is the compressor and gas?

Does anyone know a reputable place central Scotland Glasgow area for Merc maintenance and air-con diagnostic & re-gas if required?

If you have the EC button, then you have aircon. When the EC button has a red light, this means the aircon pump is bypassed for fuel economy.

On the C240, open the bonnet, and look at the front, bottom right of the engine, beneath the powr steering pump. That's your aircon pump, it's pretty large.
Do you also have twin fans in front of the radiator? Condensers are very well known for failing on the c class. Like mine!

Yes I have twin fans, will go look just now.

One more thing I have door airbag and the 'air bag' plastic emblem is missing from the drivers door card. Does anyone know the official description of this part to search on ebay?

Just to give an update. Took my car to the chaps at Mercedes indie Govan Glasgow and they sorted it out with a re-gas including dye and test for £65. All in working order now, but will keep my eye on it!!
