Ive emailed the seller to get further details of the service history, but looks like could be a nice car. It even seems to have Command!. Dont think its going to make £4k but its got to be worht £2000-£3000 dependant on the rust situation. Its in norfolk which is a bit of a drive from Kent but Im very tempted! The pictures arnt up to much, and so I cant mke out how 'blue' the dash looks, Ive never seen one with a blue dash-board, could be 'orrible!.

The blue dash is horrible, no COMAND as its a pre-face lift, its not a retrofit either as I can see the small cubby hole that goes when you fit COMAND, just looks like a non MB head unit, no heated seats either

Say what you mean, dont holdback :D . I did wonder, I have images of early 90's Toyota Camrys in my head - not a great look.

comand will retrofit into that space. The cubby with the swing up door just gets replaced with comand. Might need a new frame to be installed tho, i can't remember off the top of my head and a new wooden trim.

would be a nice addition to the car tho.

you're right you need a new frame and dash trim to fit comand , not cheap did it all to mine last year

Looks like you bought one that's pretty close to that?

the rule changes for convertibles... ;)

in all seriousness.. older cars with very low mileage are often a recipe for disaster.

This car is ten years old and it is likely that it has stood about for most of its life.. budget to replace catalytic convertors, maybe new radiator, new rubber parts etc etc.

It all depends on how the car has been stored and what its been used for... This car may just have been driven to the shops and back... that V6 will not be happy about that.

Mmmm, hadnt thought about it that way, still I think the Blue Dshboard may kill the prospect anyway, the more I think about it.

Cheers all!

Hmm, it actually looks like quite a nice car.

I wouldn't go along completely with the 'don't buy a low mileage car' thing, but I wouldn't get carried away with the price, if you know what I mean.

Personally, I'd be more concerned about rust on a W210 than mechanical wear/tear that regular mileage would provide. They're pretty good mechanically :)

Don't think that it's priced that badly either?

Neither would I , mileage is not an indication of how a car has been treated imo

True, there's no definititive rule - but, to an extent, low owner/low mileage cars tend to be nicer in general.

Eg, often owned by richer/older people who probably have a garage, can afford main dealer servicing, premium tyres etc and perhaps drive more carefully etc.

Obviously there's the extremes - granny's car that goes to Tescos once a week 2 miles down the road etc, likewise the high-mileage car that doesn't do long careful journeys (minicabs round town/speedbumps/smoked in etc).

A nice low mileage prestige car, that perhaps does medium-length journeys once or twice a week, garaged and main-dealer serviced is perfect IMHO :)

I have to say thats a really clean car, and most probably worth the 4k he's after.

That'd be my SL then except it gets a longer run a bit less often. Currently on 49k miles (12 years old). Not had any problems with it that you could attribute to under-use (touch wood, very few problems at all).

I mailed the seller and asked about the service history and got this response:

There is no rust that I am aware of, always kept garaged by previous lady owner and very low mileage of 35,000.
