2.3 16v 190e camshafts

Does any body no if what the alignment markings look like for setting the chamshafts up after taking them of.
Mercedes say there is a groove in them that line up with the head, but theres no grooves on mine.
please help!

try the Tech section under TIMING CHAIN / TENSIONER REPLACEMENT in http://mb190.tripod.com/ IT DESCRIBES HOW TO CHECK THE TIMING SO MIGHT BE OF HELP?? notice it says the marks are viewed from the back of the engine compartment looking forward. the online mb manuals are off line at the moment I think.

The marks are likely to be on the chain sprockets and not actually on the camshafts Apparently you may be looking for 2mm hoes and not grooves

Thanks for that i have found the punch markings, should soon have her started.
