W211 E240 Avantgarde
Hi Guys,

My dad has got the following codes showing on his E240. The car itself has the check engine light on but otherwise is driving fine with no lack of power or anything. From what I can see I believe it may be an issue with one of the O2 sensors but that's all I know so could someone please help me and advise accordingly.

Also, how many O2 sensors does the E240 have and where are they located? Are they easy to access/replace?

P20C2 Heating of component G3/6 (Right O2 sensor,after TWC[KAT]),Voltage supply (P0141)
P2082 G3/3 (Left O2 sensor,before TWC[KAT]) Electrical fault (P0150)
P2010 G3/6 (Right O2 sensor,after TWC[CAT])(P0136)

After doing some further digging, I'm beginning to think its one of the O2 sensors for sure. The sub codes which are at the end of the main codes in my main post are returning the below details...

P0141 O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 2)
P0150 O2 Sensor Circuit Malfunction (Bank 2 Sensor 1)
P0136 O2 Sensor Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 2)

Anyone??

Bump...

It should most likely be the O2 sensors that are playing up. TWC refers to Three-Way Cat (cat for catalytic).

I would suggest to take the car to a MB Specialist and get the codes checked on a STAR machine.

Not a big job to change the sensors but may be a bit pricey. On my dad's 2006 E-Class a new Bosch O2 sensor cost him circa £100.

Is your dad's E-Class a W210 chassis or W211 chassis?

Edit: just realised its a 2003 W211 :)

Thanks mate. Will the STAR machine basically tell me what the problem is?

Not really. You have to look at the live data to see if they are working. Only buy genuine sensors too.

+1 for above. A skilled MB technician/mechanic will know exactly how to diagnose your problem
