The only oils left to change are my diff and brake fluid, Which I would like to run some uprated oil in the diff but I'm not sure what to use. Also the brake fluid wants changing I've had new discs and pads and still I keep getting brake fade can I run 5.1??

Aaron,

I believe AMG models use MB Spec 235.61 oil in the differential, which means their own solution or Castrol Syntrax LS 75w-140. I am not sure that there is an uprated solution.

Thank you lim

And as for the brake fluid what would you have thought? I really would like 5.1 for a higher boiling point, I am thinking of taking it round the track some time this summer, the fluid wants doing badly

I do know that you can put heat sinks on the diff for better cooling. There is even a rear radiator.

Sounds interesting :) what are these heat sinks? It already has a lot of alloy fins on the diff. Is it a diff out job to fit these sinks. was only thinking of changing the oil lol. I've heard about this redline shock proof oil in big powered cars is ment to be really good but I don't want to be putting something in and it knackering seals and stuff

Aaron,

Not wholly sure about this one. Whilst M-B specify DOT 4+, the German company Fuchs in Mannheim (hand in glove with Mercedes-Benz in Stuttgart) suggest their brake fluids either DOT 4 or DOT 5.1
They should know, but I cannot be absolutely sure.
