2012 SL63 AMG still has water leaks shocker

I was getting my winter tyres on the wife's SL (R230) this morning and had an interesting conversation with the tyre place's owner, a bit of a petrol head.
He has an Aston Martin on the garage, drives a 2013 Range Rover and has the SL63 for his wife.

He told me he has had problems with water intrusion into the boot, MB had repaired the seals around the boot/rear window under warranty, he has had the pump replaced in the boot under warranty and had the foam stripped off it because it soaks up water!
Any of this sound familiar?

MB told him it was a summer car and it should be in the garage!!

They now carry bags of silica type stuff in the boot to soak up any water.
He is not a happy bunny, I'm not surprised.
Any similar stories?

but that could be because so few 231s have been sold ...

My 231 is as dry as a bone, and I drove it through a monsoon of biblical proportions a while ago.

I have seen in only about 5 R231s in London ..

very rare cars!
